Web design and development in Sheffield
A website built to bring in enquiries.
I design and build websites for businesses that need a proper online presence. Some are starting from nothing. Some have a site that’s embarrassing them. Some have something that works but doesn’t reflect where the business has got to. Whatever the situation, the brief is the same: build something that looks right, works properly, and doesn’t need to be replaced in two years.

What it covers
What a website project includes.
Most websites I build are on WordPress, which suits the majority of businesses for flexibility, ease of management, and long-term scalability. For the right brief I also work on Statamic and Webflow. Every project is designed and built to your specific requirements. Not dropped into a template.
Website design and development
The design and the build, done by the same person. I design the site around your brand and build it to work on every screen size, with clean code, fast load times and a layout that’s easy to manage once it’s yours. For sites with a complex journey or a lot of products, I put extra thought into how people move through it.
E-commerce
Online shops built properly, with the product pages, checkout and customer experience all considered from the start. Easy for you to manage day to day, and straightforward for customers to buy from.
Website redesign
If your current site is embarrassing you, or doesn’t reflect where the business has got to, a redesign is often quicker and more cost-effective than starting again. We look at what’s there, keep what’s working, and I make a recommendation.
Hosting
I can host your site on my dedicated server, which I manage directly. It’s reliable, well looked after, and means you have one point of contact for the site instead of a separate hosting company.
Website maintenance and support
Once the site is live, I keep it updated, secure and running properly. That covers WordPress, theme and plugin updates, backups, and hosting if you need it, plus someone to call when something breaks or needs changing. Most clients take this on because it’s one less thing to worry about. If you’d rather handle it yourself, I’ll make sure you’re confident before I hand over.
Print and large format
Brochures, stationery, exhibition displays, vehicle graphics and merchandise, designed to match your brand and prepared ready for print. You can see it in use on the Zeal Mortgages and Olive Tree Care Solutions projects below.

How it works
How a website project works.
01
We talk it through first
We start by talking through the brief properly: what the site needs to do, who it’s for, what pages it needs, and what success looks like. I’ll also look at what you currently have and what isn’t working about it.
02
Design
I design the site visually before a line of code is written. You’ll see how it looks and how it works before anything is built, which makes the development stage faster and the end result closer to what you wanted.
03
Development and build
Once the design is approved, I build it. You’ll be able to review it before it goes live and flag anything that needs adjusting.
04
Launch and handover
The site goes live and I make sure you know how to manage it. If you want ongoing support, we set that up at this stage. If you’d rather handle it yourself, I’ll make sure you’re confident before I hand over.
Ongoing support
Once it’s built, keep it moving.
Creative Support is a monthly retainer for the things that keep coming up once the site is live. One person who already knows your brand, so there’s nothing to re-explain.

Questions people usually ask
A few things worth knowing upfront.
Which platform do you build on?
Most sites I build are on WordPress. It’s flexible, well-supported, and easy to manage once it’s yours. For the right brief I also work on Statamic and Webflow. We’d talk through which is the best fit for your project before anything gets started.
How long does a website take to build?
A straightforward five to eight page site typically takes four to six weeks from start to launch. Larger or more complex sites take longer. The main variable is usually how quickly content and feedback comes back from your side.
Do you write the copy for the site?
I can help with copy, and often do. If you’d rather provide your own, that works too, though I’d rather review it before it goes live to make sure it’s working as hard as it should be.
Will I be able to update the site myself?
Yes. Every site I build is handed over with a proper walkthrough so you know how to make updates. If you’d rather not manage it yourself, the ongoing support package covers that.
Can you redesign my existing site rather than start from scratch?
Yes. If the structure and content of your current site are broadly right, a redesign is often quicker and more cost-effective than a full rebuild. We’d look at what’s there and make a recommendation.
Do you offer hosting?
Yes. I can host your site on my dedicated server, which I manage directly. It’s reliable, well-maintained, and means you have one point of contact for the site rather than dealing with a separate hosting provider.
What does website maintenance include?
Keeping your site updated and secure: WordPress, theme and plugin updates, backups, and checks that everything still works after each change. Hosting can be included if you need it. Fixes and updates can be part of the plan too, tailored to what your site needs.
Can you give WordPress support for a site you didn't build?
Yes. I support sites I didn't build as well as my own. I'd look at the site first so I know what I'm taking on, and tell you honestly if anything needs sorting before we start.
How is website support charged?
As a monthly plan through Creative Support, tailored to what your site and business need: updates, backups, hosting if you want it, fixes and time for changes as they come up. We'd agree the right mix on a clarity call.
